Nowadays, the concept of home-schooling is widely practiced. But whether children’s development is more if they are taught at home than to those going to school, is a big debate.

On one hand, some parents prefer homeschooling due to the obvious advantage of the freedom to choose the study pattern and study hours. Stay-at-home parents would be more benefitting from this pattern as they have all the time to teach their child. This is good for a child’s development because parents can teach at the pace of the child. In this process, the child understands the whole syllabus. Also, the child is prevented from being exposed to the negative environment and bullying that is common in schools.

On the other hand, we cannot ignore the importance of disciple and time management that a child learns while attending school. Parents working long hours cannot devote time to teach their child, in such a scenario, admitting the child to school is a good choice. Also, exposure of the child to other children of his/her age is good for the child’s development. The child learns a lot from other kids at his/her age.If a child is a slow learner, he/she will be motivated to improve if she/he feels that he/she is lagging behind others. Also, while interacting with different types of people, the child develops strong communication skills. This will prepare him to be successful in work.

In my opinion, the development of the child is more if he/she attends school. Even though the child cannot learn at his own pace but the competition he/she feels will push the child to become a fast learner. Other important skills of discipline, time management, and communication are inculcated in children while attending school.
